Russell Westbrook is arguably one of the most misunderstood players in the NBA. The 2016-17 NBA MVP is always full of aggression when he is on the basketball court. But off the court, Russ is arguably one of the nicest players in the league.
One such story proved how amazing Russell Westbrook truly was unveiled recently. Right before getting traded from the Los Angeles Lakers, Brodie donated 400 pairs of shoes to students at South LA Charter Academy.
The kind gesture from Westbrook was heavily appreciated by the Laker Nation, despite him no longer being part of the team. But today, let’s talk about Russell Westbrook’s amazing gesture during the 2020 Orlando Bubble.
Russell Westbrook Tipped Over $50K In NBA Bubble
Considering the fact that Russell Westbrook signed one of the biggest contracts in the history of the NBA, money has never been an issue for the former NBA MVP. However, it’s the fact that he uses that wealth to help others around him that makes him incredibly lovable among fans.
Speaking of the NBA Bubble. NBA analyst Taylor Rooks recently revealed that Russ apparently left a $10K tip for hotel staff prior to leaving the NBA Bubble. But that’s not the end of the story. Keith Smith of ‘Spotrac’ provided further information about Westbrook’s gesture, and it turns out Brodie left over a $50K tip for the staff.
I know from Disney people that it was over $50K. They also said that was on top of daily/weekly tips he left and him being incredibly friendly and easy to work with for all the Disney folks.

Once again, that’s not the end of the story. Tim Reynolds of ‘The Associated Press’ added more information to the story, revealing that Russ also asked other players to make nice gestures for the Orlando Bubble staff.
I can add to this — not only did he leave the tip, but he asked other players do something nice for them as well, noting what those workers went through just to ensure that we could actually HAVE a bubble.

These stories prove that Russell Westbrook may come off as a person full of aggression on the court, but off the court, he is genuinely one of the nicest people in the league.
