The Cleveland Cavaliers have recently experienced a resurgence in form. The Cavaliers had been struggling over the past few years, especially since the departure of LeBron James in 2018. But the young core they’ve assembled over these years has started to step up and play well.

Because of this recent resurgence, and the Lakers’ recent struggles, many fans have wondered whether LeBron James may be eyeing a move back to Cleveland to better capitalize on his remaining years as a superstar-caliber player in the NBA. One NBA reporter even suggested that he is keeping tabs on the Cavs through his agent Rich Paul, who also represents Cleveland’s Darius Garland.

But NBA insider Shams Charania put an end to these rumors. Speaking to former NFL player and current WWE announcer Pat McAfee on his show, Sham revealed that there is no truth to these rumors of LeBron wanting to go back to Cleveland, and confirmed that he spoke to Rich Paul, who said that LeBron will remain in LA for the time being.

“I’m here to inform you guys. That is not a real thing… I spoke to LeBron’s agent Rich Paul and he said that talk in itself is just ridiculous. Totally false. LeBron James isn’t leaving the Lakers… LeBron James isn’t going anywhere. I spoke to his agent Rich Paul and that stuff is totally false.”

This confirmation from Shams should hopefully put an end to the rumors of LeBron wanting to go back to Cleveland. One has to wonder why LeBron would want to go back to Cleveland, given that he has done everything he possibly can with the franchise.

He returned to Cleveland in 2014 to fulfill his promise to the franchise and win them an NBA championship. James has already done that. On top of that, James is also venturing into the entertainment industry now, something that requires him to be in Los Angeles. So it is highly unlikely that James will return to Cleveland anytime soon.
