NBA fans over the years have been blessed to have seen some truly incredible players dazzle on the court. It was the greats of years past who laid the foundation for where the league is today and thanks to them, it is at a wonderful place.

One of those retired greats who took the game to another level is Shaquille O’Neal, undoubtedly the most dominant big man in the modern era. Shaq also never shies away from reminding people just how great of a player he was and he recently took to Twitter to state that his team of retired NBA legends would beat a team of today’s NBA superstars in a 7-game series.

“Four games to two. You already know who I’m with. Don’t ask me. Also who’s guarding me?!”

The only surprise from Shaq here really is that he is giving them two games. He would obviously pick his team to win but let’s see what NBA fans think of this matchup.

“The mentality of Shaq, Kobe, Bird, Magic and Jordan is on different level, they will be unbreakable.”

“One team has Shaq and MJ. The rest doesn’t matter.”

“You can be honest Shaq. They wouldn’t win more than 1 game”

“This a sweep for the Shaq side. The games would be blowouts. No disrespect to the other team.”

“Who is guarding Steph 30 feet from the basket???”

“This is actually an unfair match up. Shaq MJ Kobe Magic Bird wud wipe the floor with the other team.”

“Magic, Jordan, Kobe, Bird and Shaq no one in the world could stop or NBA History could stop that team.”

“Any team with Bron KD and Steph arent losing to anyone. Sorry.”

“Magic and Steph the mismatch on Defense on both sides of but idk who’s guarding Giannis is the real question”

“This would be a sweep no question”

“new era cooks old era”

“Y’all are getting absolutely cooked”

“Idk Shaq lol, KD going give bird 80”

“Old fellas sweep.”

“I’m kinda with shaq on this one. Good look stopping Kobe Michael AND Shaq”

“Top. I think Embiid holds his own with Shaq. Curry too much for Magic. The rest offset”

“Ya legends team winning easily”

“bottom row all day every day”

“I Agree With @SHAQ But In 7 For Me.”

“I’m with you also Shaq. I’m thinking 4-1”

To be fair, a team with Shaq, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Kobe Bryant would have the edge over anybody, even if it’s LeBron James and Stephen Curry on the other side. Also to answer Shaq’s question, Joel Embiid would probably be the one trying to guard him but while Embiid is a great defender, even he really is no match for Shaq at his peak.

Shaq also put up Fadeaway World’s all-time GOAT pyramid for the Lakers on Instagram last month and he seems to like to see fans’ opinions on topics like this. He had put out a top 10 list which he disagreed with because it didn’t have Kobe and prior to that, was upset at being ranked too low among the greatest dunkers ever.

Shaquille O’Neal Says He Is Scared For The Phoenix Suns

O’Neal had a few pitstops during his incredible career and one of them was with the Phoenix Suns. The Suns were blowing away the competition at this time last year as they were running away with the best record in the NBA but things are quite different now.

They are 21-23 on the season and Shaq stated that he is scared for them. Injuries are the biggest reason why the Suns have completely fallen apart, as they have a host of players on the sidelines, including Devin Booker. It does seem though that their championship window has closed although they would definitely disagree with that.
