Stephen Curry Once Revealed That He Still Has A Signed Jersey LeBron James Gave Him In College: “He Wrote It To Me, Called Me The King Of Basketball In North Carolina.”

Speaking of the most impactful players of our generation, Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry’s rank is pretty high among them. The 34-year-old has simply changed the way that the game of basketball is played in the modern era with his insane three-point shooting ability.

Although Curry showed signs of stardom during his college days, he was never expected to become the mega superstar that he is today. While not many recognized Curry’s talents during his time at Davidson college, it seems that one of his biggest rivals, LeBron James, already knew that Curry was destined for success.

In an interview, Curry revealed that James used to come and watch Curry’s games, cheering for him. Steph unveiled in the same interview that James once handed a signed jersey to him during his junior year of college.

Via GQ:

“I was a sophomore in college and LeBron was coming to my games! I actually still have the jersey he gave me. He signed a jersey for me. I think that was November of my junior year. On my wall at my parents’ house in Charlotte, it’s still there. And he wrote it to me, called me the king of basketball in North Carolina. So I guess it’s like the corny idols-become-rivals thing. But it’s real, though.”

The two superstars shared a rivalry in the NBA that lasted for around half a decade, meeting each other four consecutive times in the NBA Finals.

Curry might have gotten the better of James in those matchups, but it’s clear that the two players still have a lot of respect for each other. Both LBJ and Curry were recently seen enjoying Draymond Green’s wedding. While mutual respect is there, when they are on the court, it’s all business for both of them.
