Stephen Jackson Blasts Donald Trump After George Floyd Comments

3 Min Read

POTUS Donald Trump is not the most popular person among NBA players and every time he comments on something that might affect ballers, things get worse for him. Stephen Jackson is the last name on that list after Trump made some questionable comments on his close friend, George Floyd, who was killed by the police while in custody last week in Minneapolis.

Mr. Trump made some controversial comments on the situation, claiming Floyd would be happy to see all the things happening in the country right now.

“We all saw what happened last week. We can’t let that happen. Hopefully George is looking down and saying this is a great thing that’s happening for our country. (It’s) a great day for him. It’s a great day for everybody,” Trump said during a White House Rose Garden event, via CNN.

“This is a great, great day in terms of equality,” Trump added.

Of course, this didn’t sit well for anybody, especially Jackson, who sent a big response to Trump, predicting he won’t be reelected in November.

“Hey, this message is for Donald Trump. This message is for you,” Jackson said, via Bleacher Report. “Do not speak on my brother’s name. I’m making you a promise, you will not be in the White House come November. You will not be reelected, I’m telling you now. … So, we coming to get you out the White House, Donald Trump. Don’t speak on my brother’s name. That damn sure wasn’t a compliment. Just know, the 18 countries and 50 states that protested, we’re coming to get you out the White House. Stay tuned.”

Jackson has been one of the faces leading the fight for Floyd and has been asking for justice for his friends and all the black people who have suffered injustices from law enforcement and more institutions in the country.

As Jackson said, 18 countries and 50 states protested against police brutality and racial inequality. Trump’s words weren’t exactly the best and instead of calming things down, he raised people’s anger more than ever. Jackson is convinced that it will cost him office next November.
