The Washington Wizards have a lot to consider regarding the future of their franchise. For years, the Wizards have been a team married to mediocrity, and they have practically nothing to show for over 10 years with Bradley Beal. Finally, after all this time, the Wizards are leaning toward trading him and it might not be long before he’s in a different jersey.

According to a recent report by Marc Stein, Washington hopes to find a new home for Beal quickly before a bigger player, like Damian Lillard, becomes available and limits their options.

Beal is a value scorer in the NBA, but Damian Lillard is on a whole other level. As a 7x All-Star and expert sharpshooter, Dame is one of the top 10 best players in the game and all of the teams currently interested in Beal would probably pivot towards getting Lillard instead.

By moving quickly on a Beal trade, the Wizards can ensure they get a quality return, but it remains to be seen where the veteran shooting guard will ultimately end up or if he’ll be traded at all.

Multiple Teams In Pursuit Of Bradley Beal

Across the NBA, Beal’s name has been connected to teams like the Warriors, Heat, Bucks, and even the Kings. Although he’s making obscene amounts of money and has a no-trade clause, it seems that Beal’s skills as a scorer and sharpshooter still make him a highly valuable asset.

If you’re the Wizards, there is no better time than now to trade him.

“As rival teams begin reaching out to the Washington Wizards to explore the possibility of trading for three-time All-Star guard Bradley Beal, team president Michael Winger and Beal’s agent, Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports, are staying in close contact to discuss scenarios presented to the franchise, sources told ESPN on Wednesday,” Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Of course, all of this changes if Dame Lillard suddenly becomes available. In truth, the longer the Wizards wait the more they risk potentially losing out on the best offers.
