Zach LaVine is in preliminary trade conversations with the Philadelphia 76ers and the Portland Trail Blazers.
Bulls insider KC Johnson reported the development in his column for NBC Sports Chicago, saying the Chicago Bulls superstar had landed in early talks with the two teams.
“The LaVine trade chatter isn’t going away. In fact, league sources said that LaVine has landed in preliminary conversations with both the Philadelphia 76ers and Portland Trail Blazers, who are working with James Harden and Damian Lillard, respectively, to find them new homes,” Johnson wrote.

This comes on the back of executive vice president Arturas Karnisovas shedding light on LaVine’s future with the franchise.
“I think we all were disappointed with the way the season ended. Zach was one of the guys who was very disappointed with the way it ended in Miami. He went into the offseason to get better,” Karnišovas said. “He’s already working out with Ty Abbott, (our) player development (coach) in Los Angeles. He’s trying to get better.”
That said, LaVine has been one of the players whose name has been doing the rounds with respect to trade chatter well ahead of the trade deadline last season.
In the 77 games he played this season, LaVine averaged 24.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game in 77 starts for the Bulls during the 2022-23 campaign. Now, with two teams in the fray, it’s interesting to see where the prolific guard lands.
Zach LaVine Does Not Want To Get Traded To The New York Knicks
Despite being frequently linked with the New York Knicks, Zach LaVine has made it clear that he isn’t interested in the trade.
“Zach LaVine’s representatives would be against a deal to the Knicks, the Daily News has learned. The Bulls are reportedly gauging interest in the All-Star guard, which prompted speculation that the Knicks — who are strapped with future draft assets — would get involved. But a source said the LaVine camp isn’t interested in dealing with the Knicks, who have a reputation around the league of favoring clients of CAA, the agency that employed Leon Rose before his move to the Knicks front office.”
For now, there is no speculation as to where he does land. It’s not often that players get to land where they want to unless they are superstars, and LaVine, when in his element, can change the tide of the game.
Watch out for the summer in Chicago.
