Being an NBA rookie in today’s world is not easy.  With social media evolving the way it has, players that enter the NBA for the first time have their newfound fame become a reason to scour through their past on social media to find a reason to embarrass them. Players like LaMelo Ball, Ja Morant, and Jayson Tatum have been innocently made fun of for their activity on social media before they became famous for joining an NBA team. The same thing happened to 2021 rookie Josh Christopher recently. The NBA Twitter world found some of his old Tweets and brought it to light for the rest of the world.

Josh Christopher’s old tweets showed that he was a huge fan of LeBron James, but more notably, a huge hater of Stephen Curry. Christopher has several tweets mocking Steph, comparing him to Steven Adams and Klay Thompson, mocking Curry after losing, and even making fun of his sneaker deal with Under Armour. Christopher’s tweets were all made in jest and didn’t say anything incredibly offensive or distasteful. But it did make for some hilarious content for NBA fans, who proceeded to mercilessly troll Christopher for all the things he said about Steph Curry.

Klay>Steph

@NBA2K bro y’all foul. I’m in OT w/ 11 seconds left and guess who rips Kyrie.. Steph cotton candy curry. I need answers right now. Not real

Saying Steph Curry is the greatest hooper on earth is almost equivalent to putting Lil B in your top 5 rappers… It just doesn’t add up..

Steven Adams > Steph curry

Swallow that L Steph.

How they gonna name the sneaker ‘Steph’ but he’s the one getting cooked

The response became so heavy that Christopher even had to put out a Tweet explaining why he was so negative to Curry. The tweet reflected that he was a huge LeBron James fan, and that is why his opinion of Steph Curry was so overwhelmingly negative. But the response from Curry’s fans became too much for Christopher to handle, so much so that he has now deleted the tweet.

Christopher will now focus on the NBA Summer League and his subsequent debut during the regular season. When the Rockets eventually face the Golden State Warriors, the focus will be on the match-up between Christopher and Curry. But for the moment, Christopher has garnered a lot of negative attention that he will hope to put behind him.
