NBA Fan: ‘Times Were Simpler When These 3 Guys Were The Best Players In The NBA’

“Old times were better” is a very common phrase in the world and somehow, NBA fans think that way nowadays. We are living in one of the best eras of basketball with athletic players that can do almost anything on the court without any problem but people still feel like the past decades had something mystic about them that make them hard to forget or surpass.

One NBA fan took to Twitter to share a pic where they showed the three best players in the league at the end of the 2000s, claiming times were better when they were the best three players in the entire association. Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, and LeBron James were really something else at that time and although some fans didn’t agree with the take, others remembered those times saying it was true.

Y’all are really saying Wade wasn’t top three? Lmao clearly weren’t watching. Wade 08-09 season: 30.2PPG, 7.5APG, 5.0RPG, 1.3BPG, and 2.2SPG. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It wasn't Wade. It was Duncan and when it wasn't him it was Dwight or Rose.

Factual. Wade was actually the best player in the league for st least 2 seasons

— Habibi (@Don_Arthurs) April 19, 2021

The days that really got me into basketball. Good times.

Back in 2009, Kobe was leading the Los Angeles Lakers to the NBA Finals, beating the Orlando Magic in five games before taking revenge on the Boston Celtics the next year, beating them in seven games. D-Wade was trying to lead the Heat to compete in the East three years after winning his first NBA championship and LeBron was running his one-man show in Cleveland, trying to win the ‘chip with his team.

Those years are part of the past now and things have changed a lot, a lot of water has gone under the bridge, Kobe tragically died last year, Wade is retired and LeBron is the best player in the world. Back in 2009, the competition was incredibly hard and a lot of fans started watching basketball thanks to these three. You can agree or disagree with that take but there’s something about the 2000s NBA that is just great.
