Breaking: Mavericks Trade Seth Curry To Philly For Josh Richardson

2 Min Read

Daryl Morey has only been employed by the Sixers for a few weeks now, but it hasn’t taken him long to make his impact felt.

In just the past few hours, he traded Al Horford and, now, has struck a deal to acquire sharpshooting guard Seth Curry.

Considering their need for premier threats, this move makes a lot of sense for the Sixers. Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid need space to work in the paint, meaning outside shooting is essential in maximizing their offense.

Seth isn’t the better of the two Curry brothers, but his scoring ability is top-tier nonetheless, and it will provide a major boost for the Sixers. Last season, he averaged 12.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists on 49.5% shooting.

Meanwhile, for Dallas, they acquire help on the defensive end. While giving up Curry couldn’t have been an easy choice, they need to develop their defense if they want any chance of making headway in the West.

All0in0allit’s a solid move that addresses the needs of both teams, but there will likely be even more activity from them in the days to come.

This year, more than any other, team executives have to work hard and fast to keep up with the constantly-changing field.
