Bronny James’ career could’ve been over this summer after years of anticipation that he and LeBron James will one day share an NBA court. Bronny suffered a cardiac arrest over the summer that made it seem unlikely. But Bronny has persevered and made a full recovery, finally debuting as the USC Tiger lost 79-84 to Long Beach State.

People had their eyes on Bronny’s debut and shared their reactions on social media, including Kevin Durrant and Dwyane Wade.

Kevin Durant had a simple three-word message for Bronny, welcoming him back to the basketball court.

Welcome back Bronny

Dwyane Wade reacted by saying he got chills when he watched Bronny on the court.

Watching Bronny walk out on that court gave me chills… Welcome back to the game you love Bronny

Fans went crazy as Bronny pulled off a trademark LeBron James move with an explosive chasedown block.

Fans joked about how Skip Bayless will find a way to hate on LeBron after Bronny’s debut.

Some fans saw flashes of Bronny being an elite athlete.

One of Bronny’s calling cards to get drafted is his aggressive defensive, something we saw flashes of in his NCAA debut.

Fans also joked about how Bronny has overtaken LeBron for most NCAA points, as LeBron never played in college.

Bronny put up four points on 1-3 shooting with two assists and a steal. He only played 16 minutes as the Trojans will look to incorporate him into their rotation. They lost this game by five points, a result they wouldn’t have wanted heading into their most hyped game of the season.

LeBron James lived up to his promise of being at Bronny’s debut and he didn’t have to miss a Lakers game either. The first-ever In-Season Tournament MVP enjoyed himself in the stands as he watched his son get his career back on track.

The Trojans were a top-25 ranked team just a few weeks ago, so they’ll have some work to fix their record after their loss to Long Island sent them to  5-4 for the season.

Bronny James Had A Long Road To His Debut

Bronny James is a player people have been seeing on the basketball court for years. Many fans have seen the entire process of Bronny being a highly-touted freshman in high school before falling into being an unheralded three-star recruit until his senior year of high school. He worked hard to legitimately earn a scholarship to USC, but all of it went wrong almost instantly.

Bronny suffered a cardiac arrest in training with the Trojans over the summer, prompting fears of his career being over. Bronny was able to use the considerable resources at his disposal to get the best treatment possible and made a comeback in just four months. He thanked USC and his family for sticking by him as he recovered.

“I just wanna say thank you for everything. Mayo Clinic, everything they helped me with. My parents and siblings, who supported me through this hard time in my life. I want to show my appreciation to everyone who helped me get through this. Also my coach, my teammates, my other coaches who have been with me from the start.”

Bronny thanks the medical professionals, USC teammates, and his family for helping him return to the court after his college debut today 🙏

Bronny will take a while to settle into the struggling Trojans lineup. Ideally, he would make the ideal backcourt partner for Isaiah Collier, provided Bronny can earn that spot with his solid defense and hopefully, an improved scoring game.
