• Klay Thompson is amazed at how Stephen Curry prepares for games

• He and Paul George were reacting to a clip of Luka Doncic struggling while doing drills with Curry

• Thompson revealed that even he still struggles to keep up with Curry

Through various clips and stories over the years, we know Stephen Curry has some insane practice drills to make his unorthodox skill set almost unbeatable.

Klay Thompson has shared a locker room with Curry his entire career and is intimately familiar with the drills the Warriors’ guard does to keep his instrument sharp. Klay revealed if he can hang with Curry in practice on Paul George’s podcast.

“I can hang, especially for the shooting portion. But when he does ball-handling with a tennis ball, he’s got these lights and is doing all this crazy globetrotter jester stuff. He juggles the ball, goes behind his back, and I’m like, ‘Bro, I just need 1-2 dribbles to get my spot.’ I’ve been his teammate for so long, I’m still in awe of how he prepares.”

Paul George: "I seen a clip of Steph [Curry] and Luka [Doncic] working out with him. Luka's like half-as*ing it."

Klay Thompson: "I saw that too. That's how I felt [joining Steph's workout]. Luka's like 'what is this sh*t?'"

The training clips we have seen from Curry this summer have been amazing. From game-speed shooting to comprehensive workouts, Curry does everything in his power to keep improving his game at the age of 35 years.

Luka Doncic Can’t Keep Up With Stephen Curry In Practice

While talking about Curry’s practice habits, Thompson and George also discussed a viral clip where Luka Doncic was struggling to keep up with Curry in practice. Thompson empathized with Luka, but both players found it hilarious.

Paul George: “I have seen a clip of Steph, somebody else, and Luka [Doncic] working out with him. Luka’s like half-as*ing it.”

Klay Thompson: “I saw that too. That’s how I felt [joining Steph’s workout]. Luka’s like, ‘What is this sh*t?’ But Luka got handles.”

Doncic was 18 years old and just entering the NBA at the time of the clip. The other player there is 16-year-old Jalen, who was drafted with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. They were all training with Brandon Payne.

Practice drills are far more important than most regular fans realize. The magic moments we see on the court are a result of tireless practice by the athletes on the court since they were little children.

Curry’s work in the gym paid off last season on the court as he averaged 29.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game on 42.7% three-point efficiency with 11.4 attempts per game.
