The Boston Celtics made a huge move earlier this summer when they traded for Kristaps Porzingis. They formed a Big 3 with Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Kristaps Porzingis.
The former fourth overall pick had a decent season, with the Washington Wizards averaging 23.2 PPG, 8.4 RPG, and 2.7 APG. With the 2023-24 season only a couple of months away, Porzingis posted an Instagram story about having big hopes for it.
“May the next season be my best season,” Porzingis wrote.
Porzingis posted a picture wearing the Celtics’ gear while practicing on the court. The 27-year-old has already signed a $60 million extension with the C’s and hopes to lead them to their first NBA Championship since 2008.

Adding Porzingis to the roster is a huge upgrade for the organization. NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith believes the trade has made the Celtics favorites to win it all in the 2023-24 NBA season.
“I think it makes them title favorites. I’m looking at every team in the NBA, and I dare somebody to tell me, who can the Boston Celtics not beat? I love Marcus Smart, and I’m gonna miss him, it’s a tremendous loss for them. But statistically speaking, some people say there was some slippage.
“I’m looking at Porzingis — their best defending field goal percentage in the NBA, I’m thinking about that. I’m thinking about the fact that he’s 7’3″ and can step away from the basket, and he can shoot a J, if not a three. When I’m thinking about Al Horford and Robert Williams III, you need an additional big body.”
