From championship teammates to bitter rivals, the drama between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole in the last year has been overwhelming for the players and the fans. It turns out it’s leaving a heavy toll on the families also.

Draymond recently addressed his situation with Poole on Patrick Beverley’s podcast. Poole’s father, Anthony Poole, took exception to what Green had to say and launched a scathing attack of his own.

“I’m standing on this, that is some BS. JP (Jordan Poole) was his guy and he avoided me all of last year. He is a soft ass b*tch and I’m standing on this, and he didn’t apologize to me and my wife. So, he’s lame, and me and him can meet anytime he wants.”

The Poole-Green beef should have been over after Poole was traded away to the Washington Wizards. Unfortunately, it seems the trade has just finally allowed a lot more of this to come out in the open because the pair aren’t teammates anymore. Poole rarely talks about it, so it’s clear the new Wizard wants to move on from the topic.

A Team-Killing Spat

Green punching Poole last summer essentially killed the Warriors’ chances of success, with the former DPOY admitting so much himself. With Poole gone, the team will hope that the locker room energy brought by Chris Paul will help the franchise move forward and win more titles. This could work but could also leave the Warriors realizing they traded a young Poole for an over-the-hill CP3 and gave draft assets to do so.

If Poole’s scoring isn’t replaced, the Warriors could perform worse. But the championship DNA of this squad is richer than anyone else in the league, so it’ll be interesting to see how they play without Poole. Having a playmaker off the bench instead of a microwave scorer could open up more opportunities for the likes of Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody, so everyone’s waiting to see this play out on the court.
