Zion Williamson has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons over the last few weeks. It had been reported he doesn’t have any relationship with the New Orleans Pelicans organization, and there was also the whole Moriah Mills saga.

NBA insider Ric Bucher then recently claimed that Zion has no interest in adding moves such as a floater or pull-up jumper to his repertoire. While Williamson hasn’t responded to any of this, his teammate Larry Nance Jr. has had enough of his name being dragged through the mud.

“I don’t understand the constant attempt to drag Z’s name.. I’m in the gym with this dude all season and he’s consistently putting in work on his touch, jumper, and skill shots.

These dudes need to stop putting out fake stories just for clicks. It’s pathetic”

It was reported that Williamson doesn’t have much of a relationship with his teammates, but Nance coming out and stating this shows that might not necessarily be the case. Zion certainly has made some mistakes recently, but it does seem like the media is just piling on him at this point and he’d have appreciated his teammate supporting him here.

Zion Williamson Is Following In LeBron James’ Footsteps To Prepare For The Upcoming Season

As for what Zion is going to be up to this offseason, he is going to follow the blueprint set by one LeBron James to prepare for the 2023-24 campaign. That means Williamson doesn’t plan on losing a lot of weight, but instead, he is going to focus on flexibility and band work.

It would be great if this new approach helps him stay healthy next season because Zion is an absolute joy to watch when he is in full flow. In the 29 games he played in the 2022-23 campaign, he had impressive averages of 26.0 PPG, 7.0 RPG, 4.6 APG, 1.1 SPG, and 0.6 BPG.
