The 2023 NBA Finals are upon us, with the Denver Nuggets now sitting with a precarious, encouraging 1-0 lead over the Miami Heat. There has been concern about how the NBA Finals would be received as the two teams are not filled with megastars, but rather with solid players. The promotion will have to be good from the NBA to ensure viewers.

Maybe the NBA could learn a lesson from one of their older commercials. In a hilarious commercial from the 2010s, Lakers legends Magic Johnson and James Worthy were in an RV with Lamar Odom, who was eating nachos while holding the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

Magic and Worthy revealed that the Larry O’Brien trophy actually contained guacamole and cheese dip for Odom’s nachos, in a genuinely hilarious sight.

Now, we must preface, there is actually no guacamole or cheese dip in the NBA Championship trophy. But the insinuation that multiple-time winners such as Magic Johnson and James Worthy were so familiar with the trophy that they knew its ins and outs was absolutely hilarious.

Heat And Nuggets Fighting For It All

Despite a lack of hilarious promotions like the one we saw above; fans will be excited about the NBA Finals. Players like Jimmy Butler, Nikola Jokic, and Jamal Murray have established themselves as big-game players who deliver when the pressure is highest. So, it will be interesting to see who wins it all.

Many fans debated that Jimmy Butler winning a ring with this Miami team would eclipse Dirk Nowitzki defeating the Miami Heat superteam in 2011. While that may or may not happen, there is much on the line for both teams going forward. Regardless of the outcome, NBA fans are in for an absolute treat when it comes to the rest of the NBA Finals going forward.
