The Miami Heat are just one win away from making it to the NBA Finals for the second time since 2020. They have destroyed the highly-rated Milwaukee Bucks and are in the process of dismantling the Boston Celtics along the way.

What makes this run so special is that no one gave the Miami Heat a chance. After they lost a play-in game and entered the playoffs as the 8th seed, many expected them to lose in the first round. They were given just a 3% chance of making it to the NBA Finals by ESPN.

The Miami Heat may have been underdogs, but their wins over the Bucks and the Knicks should have earned them some more credit. The fact that they were given just a 3% chance before the Conference Finals began shows how impressive it is that they are on their way to potentially sweeping the Boston Celtics.

Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo are the stars of the team, especially considering that Tyler Herro got injured just one game into the postseason. Butler is the obvious leader, he has averaged 29.9 points per game during this run, while Adebayo has supported him ably with 18.1 points.

But the Heat have also gotten significant contributions from their role players, Gabe Vincent has averaged 12.6 points per game, Caleb Martin has contributed 12, and Max Strus is at 11.1. The coaching of Erik Spoelstra has been a huge X-factor as well, the Heat have truly defied the odds as a well-oiled machine.

The Miami Heat Became The First 8th Seed To Win A Playoff Game By More Than 25 Points

Not only have the Miami Heat impressed by getting all these victories, but they are also doing it in style. Game 3 against the Celtics was pure demolition and domination, the Heat won by 26 points and led by as much as 33 during the game. And in doing so, they unlocked another playoff record as an 8th seed.

It’s tough to see what could possibly stop them at this point, the team is on a tear this postseason. Jimmy Butler has proven beyond doubt that he is one of the greatest stars and leaders of his era, and they will believe they can win the championship. Their likely opponent will be tough to beat, though, the Denver Nuggets look just as good. However big the mismatch is, though, surely the analysts have learned their lesson and will not count out Butler and the Heat this time.
