Shooting guard Donovan Mitchell is widely considered to be one of the best scorers in the NBA, and there’s no doubt that many hold him in high regard due to his slashing and shot-creation ability.
When the All-NBA teams were announced this season, Donovan Mitchell sent out a Tweet that suggested he should be first-team All-NBA rather than second-team. Draymond Green recently roasted him for saying that, rhetorically asking him who he should have been on that team over. Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander were the guards on the first team, and both had better seasons than Mitchell.
“I also saw Donovan Mitchell say FOH about being on the second team. So, who should you have been on the first team over Donovan? We would love to know. I would love to know. Just want to know your opinion.”
Draymond just wants to know 🤣

There’s no doubt that Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are both better players than Donovan Mitchell. However, perhaps there was an argument for Mitchell to be on the first team based on team success, as he managed to lead his team to the playoffs while the other two players ended up missing the playoffs entirely.
In the playoffs this season, Donovan Mitchell struggled, averaging 23.2 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and 7.2 APG, while only shooting 28.9% from 3PT range for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Hopefully, we see him bounce back next year and potentially lead the Cavaliers to a championship.
Donovan Mitchell Admitted The Knicks Outplayed The Cavaliers In The Playoffs
Even though the Cleveland Cavaliers were the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference under Donovan Mitchell’s leadership, they were upset by the No. 6 seeded New York Knicks. After the series, Mitchell admitted that the Cavaliers simply got outplayed.
“We did a lot of special things this year, but for it to end this way doesn’t feel right,” Mitchell said. “I’m proud of every one of those guys in this locker room, the coaching staff, and everybody, but they outplayed us. Gotta give credit where credit is due. Simple as that.”
It is unfortunate that the Cleveland Cavaliers season ended in a heartbreaking first-round loss this season. The positive side is that their core is young and will have more opportunities to make deep playoff runs in the future.
