The Los Angeles Lakers have defended their home court and taken a 3-1 series lead against the Golden State Warriors in the second round.

Stephen Curry’s 31-point triple-double with 14 assists wasn’t enough, as Lonnie Walker IV exploded for 15 points in the fourth quarter to seal the win for the Lakers.

Fans joked about LeBron predicting the Lonnie Walker emergence in the fourth quarter.

Lonnie Walker’s game-saving heroics were compared to that of Derek Fisher’s for the Shaq-Kobe Lakers.

Lonnie was honored with a Star Wars-themed graphic to honor his nickname ‘Skywalker’.

Stephen Curry was mocked for ‘disappearing’ in the final moments, missing multiple three-pointers and failing to seal the game.

Draymond Green ended up costing the Warriors’ game with a clutch turnover when he passed the ball to Anthony Davis, a heartbreaking mistake.

Lonnie Walker got a lot of his buckets on Curry in the fourth, with fans mocking Steph’s defense.

The Lakers’ role players stepping up in the second half to match Stephen Curry was appreciated by the fans of the team.

Anthony Davis had a big first half but disappeared in the second, ending the game with 23 points and 15 rebounds. LeBron James had a great game on both ends of the floor, scoring 27 points with 9 rebounds. Curry’s best teammate on the evening was Andrew Wiggins who had 17 points.

The End Of The Warriors’ Western Conference Dominance?

The Golden State Warriors have never lost in the Western Conference in this era under Steve Kerr, stretching back to 2015. They’ve been down 3-1 in the West before when they successfully beat the Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook-led OKC Thunder in 2016. If the Warriors lose in the second round, the proclamations of the dynasty being over will reign supreme.

You can never count out Golden State. We’ve seen them overcome a 3-1 deficit years ago, but we also saw them blow a 3-1 lead. We don’t know what version of Golden State shows up for the rest of the series, but they need to pull off a historic comeback on a LeBron James-led team to keep their dominance in the West alive.
