Dillon Brooks is having a nightmare playoff run this season after talking trash all season long and instigating LeBron James.

Brooks is being attacked by fans, critics, and even some players for not backing up his trash talk. With fans joking he won’t have an NBA team next season and needs to look at countries like Indonesia for his future, an Indonesian team decided to mock him by declining his services.

This is some serious trolling. Dillon Brooks is still an NBA quality player and could’ve been in the running for a $15-20 million contract offer in the summer. While he won’t fetch that amount if he’s responsible for the Grizzlies being eliminated in the first round as a No. 2 seed, he will still get an NBA contract from someone, if not the Grizz themselves.

Does Dillon Brooks Deserve The Backlash?

Dillon Brooks has been talking trash all year, especially with the Golden State Warriors. But when he came for LeBron James with flippantly disrespectful remarks that we haven’t seen opposing players make toward James in years, he had to back it up because of the attention that received.

He has done the opposite of backing it up, averaging 11.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists on 33.3% shooting through the first four games of the series. He was removed from the LeBron James guarding assignment as well, with Xavier Tillman taking on that responsibility. Things are unraveling very quickly for Brooks who is going from being a villain in the same vein as Patrick Beverley to an outcast among his peers.

A bounce-back Game 5 is much-needed for him if he wants to be respected in this league, given his recent refusal to talk to the media and face the music for his actions thus far.
