The Golden State Warriors dynasty was supposed to have ended in 2019, but they roared back to win it all last year.

There has been some talk now though that the end might not be too far away for their Big 3 but head coach Steve Kerr says they still have plenty left in the tank.

“You watch last night’s game, Steph (Curry) sure looks like he’s got plenty left in the tank,” Kerr said on 95.7 The Game’s “Willard and Dibs” show. “You watch the night before, and Klay (Thompson) gets 33 (points) in the first half. Draymond’s play all year long has been really good on the defensive end, as well as getting us organized on offense, so these guys still have plenty in the tank and we want to keep this thing going as long as we can.”

(starts at 12:38 mark):

Kerr was referring to Stephen Curry scoring 50 points against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night and he is averaging 30.1 PPG, 6.2 APG, 6.2 RPG, and 1.0 SPG this season. If the Warriors’ record was better and he hadn’t missed so much time due to injury, Steph might have been a part of the MVP race and he’s certainly got a few years at the top left in him.

Just a few days prior to that dazzling show from Curry, Klay Thompson had 33 points at halftime against the Phoenix Suns. It was a slow start to the season for Klay but he is now averaging a solid 22.0 PPG, 4.2 RPG, and 2.5 APG this season. Draymond Green, meanwhile, is putting up 8.3 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 6.8 APG, and 1.0 SPG and has been effective on both ends of the floor. Despite all of this though, the Warriors find themselves with a 36-35 record and are far from being a lock for the playoffs.

Nick Wright Thinks The Warriors Could Miss The Playoffs

Considering the team’s struggles and the fact that the Warriors lost to the Clippers despite Curry’s heroics, Fox Sports’ Nick Wright thinks they could miss the playoffs. He believes they will fall into the play-in spots and added that this isn’t exactly a team that has shown that it can’t be beaten back-to-back.

The biggest problem for the Warriors this season is that simply cannot win on the road and suffered their 10th straight defeat on their travels to the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night. If they somehow fall to the 10th seed and have to win twice on the road to make it into the playoffs, then you certainly wouldn’t fancy their chances. Even 9th would be somewhat tricky as they’d have to win one road game, so Golden State would be keen to make sure to finish in the top 8.
