Just a few months ago, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were teammates in Brooklyn and had the Nets poised to make a deep run in the NBA playoffs. Now, they are on completely different teams with so signs of re-joining each other again.
Interestingly, Durant and Kyrie haven’t even spoken to each other at all since the trade despite the two being pretty close friends off the court.

While the news isn’t particularly ground-breaking, it does say a lot about the current relationship between the former teammates. At one point, Durant was standing up for Irving in the face of endless media criticism… but now they don’t even talk at all/
Considering where the two stars, and the Nets, were just earlier this season it’s pretty shocking how it all turned out in the end.
The good news is, KD and Kyrie will get the chance to catch up this weekend when the Mavericks host Phoenix at American Airlines Center.
Which Former Nets Star Has The Brightest Future?
No matter what happens in Sunday’s game, people are going to be watching Kevin and his former teammate very closely.
In Phoenix, Durant has an opportunity to build a new dynasty and lead the Suns into becoming one of the best teams in the West. Whether it’s this season or the next one, the Suns are poised for a big run with the combined powers of KD, Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and Deandre Ayton.
Meanwhile, in Dallas, Kyrie Irving is doing everything he can to make his partnership work with Luka Doncic. There have been some major growing pains early on, but there is hope that the two of them together have enough time to figure it out and take the Mavericks further than they’ve been in years.
