Russell Westbrook is “super excited” to kickstart his career with the Los Angeles Clippers.

The 34-year-old was all smiles when he went live in a Twitter video sharing his enthusiasm to join the side. The Clippers tweeted a clip of Westbrook sharing a quick introduction.

“What’s up, Clipper nation? Russell Westbrook here. Super excited to get this thing rolling. Looking forward to it!”

After what has been a tumultuous run with the Los Angeles Lakers, Westbrook looks absolutely at ease and at peace with his new team. He’s been backed by the entire team and his arrival has also seen the fandom express their happiness in him becoming a Clipper. It remains to be seen if that happiness will continue over the next few months.

Russell Westbrook Explains How It Feels To Be Wanted By A Team

The Clippers were one of the teams interested in acquiring Russell Westbrook ever since he was looked at as one of the potential buyout candidates after being traded to the Utah Jazz.

Adding to this was his former Oklahoma City Thunder teammate, Paul George, who publicly expressed his wish to have the guard in the Clippers ranks. And that, for Westbrook, was a feel-good factor. Speaking to the media in his introductory press conference, he said:

“That’s a huge part, man, for anybody, for any normal human being in any situation in the workplace,” Westbrook said. “A lot of teammates and people that want you here, it’s very important to me. I value that a lot.”

The Clippers have been one of the teams pegged to win the title this season and are bonafide playoff contenders at the time of writing. Heading into the All-Star break, they were placed fourth in the West with a 33-28 record.

The addition of Westbrook does solve their experienced point guard issues, but only time will tell if he is a good fit alongside George and Kawhi Leonard. For now, the excitement on Westbrook’s face suggests he’s absolutely pumped to share the hardwood alongside the two Clippers stars.
