The 2023 All-Star Weekend is finally behind us and fans are just waiting for the final 25 games of the season to be contested to form the playoff picture. However, the All-Star Weekend did entertain some fans with the incredible moments it provided.

The All-Star Game itself came under heavy criticism, with even players and coaches criticizing the game. It did see history be made with Jayson Tatum scoring 55 for a new record and Team Giannis finally beating Team LeBron, courtesy of a Damian Lillard game-winning three.

Giannis Antetokounmpo wanted Dame and ensure he picked him with his first pick of the reserves, with Lillard paying Giannis’ trust back with the game-winning dagger.

“I feel Damian Lillard on our team, I feel he’s really gonna close the game out. The year I won, he was the one that took the ball half-court and made that shot, he had like 35.”

With All-Star weekend now behind us, both Dame and Giannis will be hoping to lead their teams to successful seasons. The Bucks are hoping to secure a championship this season while the Blazers are trying to secure a playoff berth and hope that Lillard can help them make a deep run.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Establishing His Legacy

Winning the All-Star game isn’t a defining moment in Giannis’ legacy but it sure does help to say that he was the captain of the team to first beat LeBron James in the new All-Star format. Many already claim Giannis is knocking on the floor of being a top-10 player in NBA history, with this season proving he’s inarguably among the best in the league.

Another title may catapult Giannis ahead of the likes of Kevin Garnett and Dirk Nowitzki in the race for the greatest power forward, though surpassing Tim Duncan is a tall order. Giannis is a truly one-of-a-kind superstar and his second-seeded Bucks look primed and ready to bring the title back to Milwaukee.
