Devin Booker made the headlines for all the right reasons on Saturday night when he exploded for 58 points against the New Orleans Pelicans. Booker had endured a rough couple of weeks or so prior to that performance, both on the court and off it.
He had a couple of miserable performances against the Dallas Mavericks as well as the Boston Celtics, and on a personal note, he broke up with his supermodel girlfriend, Kendall Jenner. It was an amicable split, and reports have surfaced that she is now dating Harry Styles. Devin Booker Wants To Focus On His Career
The report regarding their split indicated that both parties wanted to focus on their careers, and that is good news for Suns fans. One might very well argue that the championship window has closed for Phoenix, but Devin Booker clearly doesn’t think that way and wants to put all his attention toward basketball.
The biggest problem for the Suns at the moment is that Chris Paul seems like a shell of himself. We saw a significant dip in his level of play toward the end of that playoff series against the Mavericks, and he just hasn’t been the same. If he can’t get it going at the business end of the season, then it won’t matter how well Booker plays, as the Suns won’t go too far in the playoffs.
