When a team loses in the NBA Finals, it isn’t too surprising to see them have a bit of a hangover the following season. Getting that close to the biggest prize and falling short can be a crushing blow, but that doesn’t seem to be the case for last season’s runners-up.

The Boston Celtics have looked utterly dominant this season and have the best record in the NBA at 21-5. They recently demolished the Phoenix Suns , who had the best record in the Western Conference at the time and they’ll now look to put in a similar performance against the defending champions, the team that beat them in the Finals, the Golden State Warriors. Prior to their game on Saturday night, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr had nothing but praise for the Celtics.

Steve Kerr on with @DamonAndRatto yesterday on the Celtics:

“This is a team that has been to the Conf Finals 4 of the last 6 years. They’ve been knocking on the door for a while now and this is definitely their best team and they are by far the best team in the NBA right now.”

They have certainly looked like the best team in the league up to this point, and that is with their defensive anchor Robert Williams III not playing a game so far. He is set to return not too long into the future and should help get their defense back to the level it was last season.

NBA Analysts Think The Celtics Are The Favorites

After their dominant win over the Suns, the Celtics have left many within NBA circles highly impressed. Stephen A. Smith had been backing the Warriors to repeat but said the Celtics are the favorites and that Jayson Tatum is his MVP.

Former Celtic Kendrick Perkins said they are more likely to make it to the Finals than the Warriors , and it certainly seems that way. Magic Johnson also called the Celtics the best team in the league , and they’ll be looking for another statement win here.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
