Alex Caruso Thanks Lakers Fans With Emotional Message: “Will Never Forget My Time In LA… Y’all Loved Me Before It Was Cool”

2 Min Read

Alex Caruso is no longer with the Los Angeles Lakers. Caruso signed a contract with the Chicago Bulls that pays him $37 million across 4 years. Lakers fans are very upset about losing Caruso, as he had become a true fan favorite in the franchise. Caruso had been with the Lakers since 2018, first starting as a two-way player before earning a full-time contract with the Lakers in 2019. Caruso went on to become a key member of the roster, as he was one of the best defensive players on the team. In 2020, Caruso was part of the Los Angeles Lakers team that went on to win the NBA Championship in the Orlando bubble.

Caruso leaves the Lakers as one of the most beloved figures in the team’s recent history. What initially started out as a joke eventually led to Caruso becoming one of the internet’s most beloved figures, and was a valuable member of the purple and gold. The Lakers’ fanbase took to Caruso for the incredible hustle and intensity that he brought to the court.

And the love was mutual between the two. Alex Caruso took to Twitter after he secured a new deal with the Bulls to thank the Lakers fans. He expressed his gratitude for the fanbase and how they accepted him into the family. Caruso found a home in Los Angeles and said that he would remember his time with the franchise forever.

“Will never forget my time in LA and the #lakeshow fans.. y’all loved me before it was cool genuine love for all of y’all”

The Lakers fanbase will always fondly remember Caruso for the time he spent with them. But perhaps something that will get them angry is the fact that the Lakers passed up on the opportunity to re-sign Caruso after he got the initial offer from the Chicago Bulls. Caruso will now represent Chicago and serve as the back-up to his former Lakers teammate Lonzo Ball.
