Luka Doncic continues to make waves at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Doncic has been singlehandedly leading his home nation of Slovenia in the Olympics so far. Doncic and Slovenia defeated Germany in order to reach the semifinals of the tournament. They will face France in the semifinals as they look for a chance to win an Olympic medal.

Slovenia is not a big country, especially on the basketball stage. But much to the credit of Doncic, he has been able to elevate the rest of his team in order to continue winning. Doncic has brought the same form that he showed with the Dallas Mavericks during the 2021 NBA Playoffs to the Olympics, and Slovenia is benefitting from his excellent performances so far. At the moment, Doncic has an impeccable record with the Slovenian team, as he has won 17 games and is yet to lose a single fixture with them.

Doncic and Slovenia will face France in the semifinals on Thursday, which will be their toughest challenge as of yet. But for now, Doncic is feeling extremely happy about the run that he and Slovenia have put together. He took to Twitter to express his happiness about how well Slovenia has done so far. He noted that their performance in the Olympics is among the 4 best in the entire world. For a country of only 2 million people, that is an incredible achievement, and Doncic is feeling great about that.

“Top 4 in the world, a country of 2M people! What a feeling! #mislovenci

For the moment, Doncic and Slovenia will celebrate. But they will begin preparing for the tough test of France in two days’ time. The French team has been performing at an extremely high level, even beating a stacked Team USA in their opening fixture. Luka and Slovenia will have to work very hard in the game against France, especially with players like Evan Fournier, Nicolas Batum, and Rudy Gobert. But if Doncic can continue to build on the form that he already has, Slovenia stands a solid chance against them.
