Brandon Ingram isn’t one to forget the past, and he let the Phoenix Suns know it after the New Orleans Pelicans recorded a 128-117 win on Friday.

The Suns had the last laugh when they trounced the Pelicans 4-2 in the first round of last year’s playoffs. And by the looks of it, Ingram’s comment in the aftermath of the win suggests that there is a rivalry in the offing.

The Pelicans have been scintillating this season and are placed first in the Western Conference standings with a 17-8 record, while the Suns (16-10) are third. The win on Friday now evens the score after the latter beat them earlier this season.

It’s all not over yet as the two teams clash again on Sunday, and on Saturday (Dec 17) again. But for now, New Orleans are happy to make it 1-1.

Brandon Ingram Has Some Choice Words For The Phoenix Suns

He may not have suited up for the game against Phoenix Suns, but Brandon Ingram made his feelings about the opposition quite clear.

He took to Instagram soon after the win and posted a sharp phrase, further rubbing salt into the Suns’ wounds. It was an all-around effort as Williamson led from the front with 35 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. Jose Alvarado and CJ McCollum chipped in with 20 and 18 points, respectively.

“Stop playing wit us p****.”

Phoenix eliminated NOLA during last year’s first round of the playoffs 4-2) and it seems that tension is still there. NOLA currently has the best record in the Western conference.

New rivalry?

The clash against Phoenix wasn’t without drama, as Zion Williamson finished with a vicious dunk that left Chris Paul and some of the Suns players fuming. It goes without saying that Sunday’s skirmish will be nothing short of a grudge match, and the Suns will look to come back firing on all cylinders.
