Charles Barkley has had a tumultuous couple of weeks going at it with the Golden State Warriors fans, trashing the city of San Francisco while trolling the fans that have fired back at him.

This has been a good condiment of the series, and sometimes, it has gotten more attention than the fact that the Warriors are 2-0 over the Mavs, winning big games at Chase Center, even Barkley’s mind games.

Some people think the former NBA MVP is going against the Warriors, but Chuck has admitted that he just does it for the show. Sure, he doesn’t have the best feelings for the Warriors fans, but most of it is just to get noticed.

Via NBC Sports:

“Oh, I can buy into the (Warriors),” Barkley said on the “Ryen Russillo Podcast” prior to Game 2. “I hate their fans. But we have a lot of give and take, and that doesn’t bother me. They, you know, you know, Ry? As long as people are reacting to your opinion, you’re doing what you’re supposed to do on television.”

“I mean, your job is to make sure people enjoy the sport. You, hopefully, you have good games, but when you, when you’re announcer, you want an analyst, whatever, I’m not sure what the hell I am, to be honest with you. You want people to respond to whatever you say. So whether you boo me or cheer me, as long as they.… I’m like Roman Reigns. As long as they acknowledge me, I’m doing my job.”

Barkley admitted that he doesn’t have a favorite in the conference finals, and he’s waiting for it to end so he can focus on different things:

“But I normally don’t care, like this Golden State-Dallas [series],” Barkley added. “I don’t care who wins. Boston against Miami. I don’t care who wins. You know what I care about, right? I’m ready for this to be over, so I can go play golf and fish every day.”

The series has moved to Dallas now, and Chuck probably doesn’t feel the same about San Francisco. He’s ready to watch more basketball and give his interesting opinions before and after the game. This is all part of a big strategy and it seems like he’s doing a great job. Fans react whenever they see it and he’s having a blast with that.
