The Boston Celtics stood tall through the season based on the character and ability of their team, widely being considered title favorites due to their depth and the reliability of their top stars.

All of that has been proven completely inaccurate by the Miami Heat in the Conference Finals. Heat guard Gabe Vincent was giving C’s the same respect they’ve warranted over the season after winning Game 3 and taking a 3-0 lead, but Charles Barkley hilariously countered everything Gabe said.

Gabe Vincent: “Closeout games in my experience are the hardest. So regardless, whether we’re at home or on the road, it’s gonna be a battle. They are a really good team, they’re a well-coached team, they’ve got stars, they’re not gonna lay down. We got to come in and handle business on Tuesday night.”

Charles Barkley: “Clearly you didn’t watch the game tonight. Well coached? Don’t lay down? Go look at the tape again.”

Barkley isn’t wrong, as all the points that Vincent said were strengths for Boston ended up being their downfall. The head coach came out and said he’s lost the Celtics locker room, while the stars on the team combined to score 26 points, three less than what Vincent got with his 29-point night.

Miami Needs To Avoid Complacency

The Heat’s identity has always been to maximize the opportunities they have. Their success in the postseason this year has also come because they have been able to capitalize on teams being lazy and Game 3 was the most evident reflection of that. Magic Johnson said fans should be disgusted with the team for how they quit in Game 3. Miami didn’t take the night off knowing they were 2-0 up at home, instead, they went to pulverize Boston, which they did.

Game 4 may seem like it’s in the bag given the energy of the Celtics camp, but Miami will come out with the same intensity they did tonight and become only the second eighth seed in league history to make it all the way to the NBA Finals.
