• Finch declared Doncic as an unstoppable player that no one can compete against

• Doncic scored 43 points through the two matchups as part of the 2023 NBA Abu Dhabi Games

The Timberwolves have taken two big preseason wins over a Conference rival and will be flying high. The Minnesota-based squad just picked up back-to-back preseason wins over the Dallas Mavericks. Coach Chris Finch spoke to Fadeaway World about Luka Doncic.

“It’s tough to stop Luka. The other day, we tried our best to make his life difficult and he still scored 25 points in a half. It’s always by committee.”

Doncic has had a pretty sensational time whenever he’s on the court. Given the minutes restriction all Mavs’ starters are playing through, Luka played a little more unselfish than in the first game, creating opportunities for his teammates.

The Mavericks’ offense plateaued in the second quarter, as they went over 4:30 minutes without a basket in Doncic’s absence. Luka is the best player in Dallas and is doing his part, but he needs everyone to chip in if they want to win it. Unfortunately, there just doesn’t seem to be any clear fix for a situation like this.

Luka Doncic Thinks Michael Jordan Is The GOAT

Chris Finch may take Doncic as the most exciting player in the NBA. Many have claimed that Doncic has all-time generational greatness within him, but that doesn’t come until he adds a ring to his finger. Given the value of titles in the NBA, it’s no surprise that Doncic openly called Jordan the GOAT while in Abu Dhabi.

Luka is a Jordan Brand athlete, so it’s highly unlikely he would pick shoes from anyone else. He is also known to be a big fan of LeBron James, so it seems Doncic just appreciates watching the best hoopers he possibly can. But he did openly call Jordan the GOAT, which will definitely upset LeBron fans regardless.

Thinking Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player ever is not an unpopular opinion. Naturally, someone will find ways to shoehorn him into their all-time starting five or straight out call them their ‘GOAT’.

Luka Doncic Feels Healed And Ready To Go

Luka Doncic will be raring to start the NBA season after a hectic offseason. Doncic battled with thigh injuries that have been weighing on him since January 2023. The 24-year-old star provided an update on his recovery from the injury after the first game against the Timberwolves.

“My injury is way better. It’s improving every day.”

Luka averaged 32.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 8.0 assists last season. He will need to bring those heroics back to the forefront to just have him in contention for the MVP award, especially with Kyrie Irving on the same squad as him.

Whether misplaced or not, there are winning expectations that the Mavericks will be expected to deliver on this season. Doncic will be a key part of that.
