Colby Covington Really Hates LeBron James: "He's Garbage. He Uses That School That He’s Funding As A Tax Write Off And Then He Wants To Claim That He’s Some Good Guy"
It's not a secret that Colby Covington can't stand LeBron James. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has earned some enemies thanks to his political views, and the UFC fighter is one of them.
Back in August, Covington started attacking LeBron, calling him out over his political opinions, especially against former POTUS Donald Trump. Ever since that, 'Chaos' hasn't missed an opportunity to attack the 4x NBA champion.
Even when the waters are calm, Colby remembers LeBron and takes shots at him. Recently, he called out Bron over his stance on China and the Hong Kong protestors.
“He claims to be about social justice but he won’t say ‘Free Hong Kong.’ He won’t talk about the Uyghurs that are locked up in concentration camps in China,” Covington said, via Victor Morton of The Washington Times. “He won’t talk about all the women that he’s profiting off of in his Chinese sweatshops that are making all his shoes — for dollars — that he’s coming over to America and selling them for hundreds and profiting millions off of here in America.”
Moreover, he said that his 'I Promise' school wasn't anything else than a way to avoid paying taxes.
“I wasn’t going to let him dupe the people and make the people think he’s a social justice warrior and he’s on this pedestal,” Covington said. “No, LeBron James is not on a pedestal. That guy is a piece of crap. He’s a piece of garbage. He uses that school that he’s funding as a tax write off and then he wants to claim that he’s some good guy. No, he’s not a good guy, man. All he cares about is lining his own pockets and bowing down to China.”
This has become personal for Covington while LeBron hasn't directly addressed his comments. The King has better and more urgent things to think about right now, as the Lakers are on the brink of getting eliminated from the 2021 NBA playoffs.
On the other hand, Covington will try to reach glory again, as he's apparently set to face UFC Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman in his next fight.
