After a 71-point performance against the Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard reflected on his pursuit of a championship.

While Lillard has accomplished almost everything as a player, an NBA title remains the only thing missing from his resume and Dame says his desire to capture at least one before his career is over has never been stronger.

“We’re in an era of ‘How many rings you got,” said Lillard. “That’s why I want to win one so bad just to have that top off everything that I’ve already done.”

Lillard’s 71-point performance on Sunday was the 8th highest-scoring game ever and it came in a crucial win for the Blazers, who are still very much alive in the Western Conference playoff picture.

But as the NBA world celebrated his latest masterpiece, people couldn’t help but imagine how much different things would be for him if he played in a different situation.

Will Damian Lillard Ever Leave The Blazers?

Lillard’s historic performance this weekend was proof that he’s still one of the top 1- best players in the game. As an elite shooter, ball handler, and scorer, Lillard is undoubtedly having the best season of his career with averages of 32.3 points, 7.2 assists, and 4.3 rebounds per game on 47.2% shooting.

Unfortunately, Portland hasn’t found much success as a team this season. With a 29-31 record, they aren’t in contention for the title and many have pressured Dame to force a trade and try to win somewhere else.

So far, the 32-year-old star has resisted a relocation and remains committed to doing whatever he can to bring a championship to his city. While this year will likely not bring the results Dame is hoping for, it seems he still has plenty of time to accomplish big things for the Blazers.

Either way, Lillard isn’t going anywhere and he’s made it clear that he has no desire to abandon his team in pursuit of any easy chip. Hopefully, the Blazers are able to build a competent supporting cast around him sometime soon…
