The Golden State Warriors were touted as one of the best teams ahead of the 2022-23 NBA season. But over the last few months, it has become that the Dubs need a lot of improvements to reach that level.

Moreover, as of now, the Warriors are in an even deeper hole due to the absence of Stephen Curry. Curry is currently dealing with an injury and, as a result, is sidelined for several weeks. During Steph’s absence, the likes of Draymond Green, Jordan Poole, and Klay Thompson are expected to step up and fill in the gap.

Unfortunately, they failed to do so against the Brooklyn Nets as Kevin Durant led the Nets to an easy victory over the Warriors. Many were shocked that the Warriors were down by 40 points by halftime.

Has Draymond Green Changed?

Draymond Green is usually known for his supreme aggression and the ability to get inside the head of his opponents. More often than not, Green uses trash talk to achieve that goal.

He tried to do the same against Kevin Durant in the Warriors’ recent matchup against the Nets. But for some reason, the 4x NBA champion followed the trash talk up with an apology directed towards Kyrie Irving, who was present in street clothes to support his team.

In the clip, Green can be seen apologizing to Kyrie with a gesture while also yelling, ‘I’m sorry Kai.’ Now, this is something rare, and NBA fans were quick to react to it on Twitter.

After the initial shock, most fans realized that Green was his usual self and was simply being sarcastic to Kyrie. Either way, it was great to see Green apologizing, albeit in a sarcastic way. He even wanted Patrick Baldwin Jr. to guard KD at one point in the game.

But on a serious note, the Warriors need to find a way to win games regularly this season. Otherwise, they seem destined to have a mediocre regular season after winning the NBA Championship last season.
