Dwyane Wade Isn’t Interested In Joining LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony And Lakers Superteam

2 Min Read

After the Los Angeles Lakers acquired the services of Carmelo Anthony, people started joking about the possibility of seeing Dwyane Wade coming out of retirement to join Melo and LeBron James on the Los Angeles Lakers.

This could mean we’d see 75% of the famous ‘Banana Boat Crew’ (minus Chris Paul) together, but it looks like we’ll have to settle with only 50% of that group. Anthony and James are ready to win the championship next year, teaming up after 18 years in the league.

It would’ve been great to see Wade joining forces with his good friends, but the Miami Heat legend isn’t interested in that. Some people hoped to see Flash coming out of retirement to have one last ride with Melo and Bron, but he’s over that.

According to Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson, the 2006 NBA Finals MVP isn’t thinking about a return, shutting down all those expectations that some may have.

That would’ve been awesome, no doubt, but Wade is focused on different things now, starting with the Utah Jazz, where he has a part-ownership.

The time to see these four players on the same team is over, and now we have to imagine how they would’ve fared together. Still, we have Melo and LeBron teaming up this season, creating a superteam on the Lakers alongside Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis.

The NBA is full of ‘what-ifs,’ and this can be one of the biggest. We saw LeBron joining forces with Wade in Miami at the start of the 2010s, but Melo’s contract didn’t allow him to join his two friends

CP3 always found a way to team up with other stars, never being close to joining Bron, Wade, or Melo. At least James gets to play with two of them, but it’s not a secret that they all dreamed of playing with the Banana Boat Crew in the league.
