Former ESPN personality Michelle Beadle took to X to make some jokes about the recent Shannon Sharpe viral Instagram Live situation. Beadle denied being the other person in the encounter, capitalizing on the speculation as the name ‘Michelle’ had been mentioned in the video itself.

The name ‘Michelle’ was audibly heard in live, and Sharpe and his podcast co-host Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson addressed this name on their show, with some frat humor between the two.

Sharpe’s Instagram faux pas caused quite a ruckus on social media, as he immediately became one of the biggest trending topics once fans realized what was going on in the video. His Night Cap episode got one of the highest viewership in recent memory, as he and his co-host discussed this matter.

In the immediate aftermath of the incident, Sharpe came out and claimed that he was hacked. However, he later addressed the situation in the show, stating that he went live on Instagram by accident, and how embarrassed he was of the whole situation. Clearly, Sharpe struggled to cope with the immensity of the situation initially.

However, he and his co-host were able to joke about things and make light of the situation in a way that looked like Sharpe was having fun and being able to process the entire happening.

As things stand, there has been no word on whether Sharpe will face any professional ramifications for the incident. He is currently working with ESPN, primarily appearing on First Take. ESPN has shown in the past that they don’t have a tolerance for lewd imagery and unsavory incidents from their on-air personalities.

Paul Pierce was let go from ESPN a few years ago after a similar situation took place on Instagram Live. But Sharpe has maintained that he has been in contact with ESPN, and been fully transparent about the incident, so as things stand, he might be okay.

Marcus Jordan Shows Support To Shannon Sharpe

Shannon Sharpe actually received a lot of support from a large, vocal part of the fanbase. In fact, one person who extended his support to him was Marcus Jordan, the son of Michael Jordan. He noted on an Instagram post that Sharpe had his full support through this endeavor.

For Sharpe, this must have been a difficult experience and one that he will have to reconcile with. However, like many savvy media personalities in the past, he has decided to lean into the humorous nature of the incident. As mentioned above, he and his co-host made several jokes about the incident.

On top of that, Sharpe landed a sexual enhancement sponsor for his show off the back of this, and even released merchandise on his website to sell which references this entire incident. Perhaps Sharpe will cleverly capitalize on the virality of this situation.
