Shannon Sharpe accidentally set the internet on fire after he inadvertently went on Instagram Live during a private affair with a woman. After initially claiming he got hacked, Sharpe spoke on his ‘Night Cap’ show about the incident, it being an accident, and how embarrassed he was of the entire situation.

“Obviously I am embarrassed. Someone that is extremely, extremely private and to have one of your most intimate details – the audio – heard for the entire world to hear, I’m embarrassed for a number of reasons…”

“I still try to remain a level of professional, although I’m in the privacy of my own home, and I’m very disappointed in myself. Not for the act…”

“But to have your most intimate details on audio to be heard, I’m disappointed in myself. I let a lot of people down, my kids, I reached out to them, and I called my sister. My friends reached out. This was not staged. Came in, I threw my phone on the bed, engaged in an activity…”

Sharpe was clearly taken aback by the whole situation. In the immediate wake of the incident, he came out and claimed that he was hacked. He clarified later on the show that he was not hacked, and that he got on Instagram Live by accident. An incident like this can be very serious.

Sharpe has been very proactive in having conversations with all of his professional contacts so that this unsavory incident doesn’t jeopardize his prospects in the future. While Sharpe made a mistake, he clearly didn’t intend to and wasn’t doing anything in bad faith or in poor taste.

Chad Ochocinco Roasts Sharpe After Accidental NSFW Instagram Live

One of the funniest responses to the entire incident actually came from the comments section of the Instagram Live video. WWE Superstar Ron ‘R-Truth’ Killings was reacting, just like the rest of the audience, to the video, and left a lot of hilarious, and slightly concerned reactions and comments.

Truth

Shannon Sharpe seemed to be in better spirits during his show with Chad Ochocinco. During the episode, Ochocinco was roasting Sharpe, taking slight digs at his supposed performance, and telling him that he needs to work on his cardio.

In response to that, Sharpe noted that no one was harmed during the situation, which led to a few lewd innuendos shared between the co-hosts and former NFL stars.

Sharpe has seemingly capitalized on his accidental virality and is leveraging that to expand his personal and professional brand. As things stand, there is no word on if this will affect his working relationship with ESPN or Disney. Considering the company’s history on matters such as this, it could be a touch-and-go situation for Sharpe.

It was good to see Sharpe in good spirits after what was very clearly a distressing situation. Having your personal and intimate moments blasted on the internet for the whole world to see can be incredibly stressful, but Sharpe seems to be handling it well. Hopefully, this doesn’t take too much of a toll on him.
