It’s no secret that LeBron James is one of the best in the world at his craft, and that fact is obvious when you watch him play. Even now, with over 20 years of experience under his belt, LeBron continues to impress with his amazing longevity and basketball smarts. Of course, in his prime, LeBron was even more dangerous and he brought it to another level in the postseason.
Speaking on ‘The PIVOT’ podcast, former Raptors guard Fred VanVleet spoke about some of his battles with the King and how, sometimes, there was nothing you could do to slow him down.
“He had a 2nd or 3rd quarter against us where he decided he was going to shoot turnaround jumpers the whole quarter and there was nothing you could do…You knew what move he was gonna do, he still did it and there’s nothing you could do. There used to be a lot more of that, but Bron definitely gave us a couple of those performances where it was just like ‘what you gonna do?’ Especially me, what am I gonna do?”

When LeBron gets to his spots, there’s really nothing you can do but pray and hope he misses. Even today, that turnaround jumper from the post is a go-to play for James and it’s a tried and true method that seems to work very effectively.
At this point, the biggest question for James is not about individual performance, but whether or not he’s still good enough on his own to carry his team to a title.
Has LeBron Won His Last Championship?
At nearly 40 years old, the end is closer than the beginning for King James, but he’s got nothing left to prove anyway. Even still, LeBron is only playing for titles and as long as he’s active the expectation is that the Lakers are trying to win.
“I wouldn’t say it was a successful year because I don’t play for anything besides winning championships at this point in my career,” said LeBron. “And I don’t get a kick out of making a Conference appearance. I’ve done it a lot.
We will see soon enough if the Lakers can remain competitive in the West but there is n question that LeBron is not done competing just yet. And as long as he’s healthy and playing like himself, the Lakers will always have a chance to go toe-to-toe with the best.
