Stephen Curry proved his greatness once again in Game 7 against the Sacramento Kings, leading the Warriors to victory with his 50 points.

In doing so, he has earned much praise, with NBA fans reminded of his true greatness. Stephen Curry has a severe case to be considered a Top 10 player of all time, and Gilbert Arenas called him the GOAT at his height a few months ago.

“His highlight reels are amazing for what it is. When you’re talking about dribbling skills and the stuff he does to people, it’s amazing,” Arenas said on VladTV. “But you got to remember, when it comes to levels of just men themselves, he’s like the king of 6-3 and under. Like you know that’s how we should do it, right?

“6-3, 6-4 and under, Curry is the king, he’s the GOAT. He is the goat of that 6, 6-4. Curry is the GOAT. It seems like that’s how you do it. Just like (Floyd) Mayweather. Because when you talk about the greatest boxers of all time, mentally you go for the people who knocked out the most people.”

Some may not realize it, but this is high praise from Arenas. Players like Allen Iverson and Isiah Thomas were under 6’3, and our writer Eddie Bitar wrote a comparison between Iverson and Curry. Furthermore, in our list of the greatest NBA players by height, we picked Stephen Curry at 6’2 as well. But considering that he has won four championships, two MVPs, a Finals MVP, and could win more, he is the greatest player ever in the category Arenas mentioned.

Stephen Curry Is Being Called The Greatest Point Guard Of All Time

For decades, Magic Johnson has been considered the greatest point guard in the NBA’s history. But after his championship in 2022 and now his incredible performances this season, Stephen Curry is being considered. Colin Cowherd went as far as to say that he might have surpassed Magic already.

“I think Steph Curry and Magic now if I have to size them up. If you take the Finals MVP from Steph and the 50-point performance in Game 7, I think there’s a valid argument Steph’s the greatest point guard of all time,” Cowherd said on his podcast. “He’s a much greater scorer than Magic, he’s a much greater offensive player than Magic Johnson, terrific ball handler, neither are great defenders.”

Stephen Curry now has an opportunity to further strengthen his case if he can lead the Warriors to another series win against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. If can get past them and go on to win another championship and Finals MVP, then it will be hard to say he doesn’t have a case for Top 5 or the GOAT point guard.
