Bob Myers has been instrumental in the success that the Golden State Warriors have enjoyed over the dynastic decade, with Myers serving as their GM. He’s capitalized on every opportunity possible to keep the Warriors as perennial contenders but his journey with the team may be ending.

Myers is in the final months of his contract with multiple teams circling around him if he doesn’t stay with Golden State. If he does end up leaving, the Warriors may have to contend with a massive change in the franchise.

Monte Poole has reported that Steve Kerr would be devastated and Stephen Curry would be disappointed if Myers was to leave the squad in the summer.

β€œThere is some concern that this could be the last dance…If Bob [Myers] were to leave, I know Steve [Kerr] would be devastated and Steph will be disappointed.” πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€

The Warriors will do everything in their power to retain Myers but the man may just be looking for a new challenge. If he does choose to leave Golden State, it may be the first departure that signals the end of an era.

Can The Warriors Pivot Into Another Era Of Success?

If Myers does end up leaving the team, it doesn’t necessarily mean the end of an era. Stephen Curry is under contract for 3 more seasons while Kerr could be a realistic option to be Myers’s successor in the front office given his previous experience as an executive for the Phoenix Suns.

Kerr being in charge could be a good move, similar to how Brad Stevens transitioned into leading the Boston Celtics after years as a coach. It’d give the franchise continuity as well, so Myers’s possible exit could help the Warriors usher in a new era under Kerr’s overall leadership, with the franchise looking for a new coach.

This is all speculation but this is going to be a major talking point in the summer and could be one of the most impactful front office moves in recent years/
