Ja Morant Takes A Jab At Referees After Ejection vs. Knicks: “Send Threats Then Want To Give Techs”

2 Min Read

Ja Morant lost his cool on Monday night in the Memphis Grizzlies’ 118-104 loss to the inspired New York Knicks. The young point guard received two technical fouls and was ejected from the game, leaving the door open for the Knickerbockers to get a huge W that secured them their first winning season since 2013.

In a very crazy sequence, referees called five technical fouls in 18 seconds, including two for Morant and head coach Taylor Jenkins. That didn’t sit well with the 21-year-old and he went off on the referees.

Following that, Morant took a shot at the officials, claiming they sent threats to him before expelling him from the game.

“send threats then want to give techs lol,” the young point guard tweeted.

This was not a good look for Ja and the referees. It’s hard to see, at any level, a team getting five techs in less than one minute. Well, the reigning Rookie of the Year was anything but happy with the situation and took to social media to vent his frustrations.

In the end, the Knicks won a game that the Grizzlies fought very hard to win but these situations damaged all their plans. Morant didn’t have the best night on the floor, either, going 2-of-14 shooting, only scoring 8 points.

The Grizzlies keep fighting to keep their spot in the play-in tournament but they need to add some wins if they want to secure their participation in it. Morant didn’t show his best version on the floor and against the refs and this is something he needs to work on before it’s too late.
