In the last two seasons, Joel Embiid finished in second place behind Nikola Jokic in the MVP race.

But Embiid’s wish to win the MVP award was finally fulfilled, thanks to his insane 2022-23 NBA season. His superstar teammate, James Harden, had a hilarious reaction to Embiid letting out his emotions after finding out that he’s the MVP of the league.

“He crying! He crying!”

James Harden has experienced what it feels like to go through these emotions as he was the 2017-18 NBA MVP.

The Beard has always been supportive of Embiid. He once explained why the 76ers center was a special player and second to no one.

As for Embiid, after years of being taunted for not winning an MVP award, he has certainly proven his doubters wrong this season.

Joel Embiid Said He Would Become The NBA MVP In 2014

Over the last few years, Joel Embiid has become one of the best players in the league, and this season, he is finally second to no one.

Embiid was always confident in his abilities, and proof of that was shown by him in 2014. The big man posted a fake MVP ladder that placed him in the first spot over LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.

Well, nine years down the line, Embiid no longer needs to post a fake MVP ladder, as he is indeed the best player in the league.

With the MVP race finally over, the 29-year-old can put his focus on the playoffs. He is currently sidelined with a knee injury and missed Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals vs. the Boston Celtics.

Many expect the newly-crowned MVP to be back for Game 2 of the series, but Embiid denied confirming his availability.

“We shall see. Like I said, we got families to celebrate with, and then we’re going back to focus on Game 2.”

The 76ers currently hold a 1-0 lead in the series, but the Boston Celtics are not a team that they can defeat without Embiid. Hopefully, fans will get to see him in action sooner rather than later.
