Anthony Davis once again let the Los Angeles Lakers down with a terrible performance in Game 2 of their second-round series vs. the Golden State Warriors.

While their rivals were on a tear, AD struggled to find his rhythm, leaving the door open for the Warriors to take the win and tie the series 1-1.

Jay Williams had so much to say about AD, calling him out over his inconsistent performances.

“It’s hard for me to recall a superstar in this game that has such extremes. There are times when I watch AD, I’m like, your ceiling is on the level of Jokic or Embiid, maybe better. But your floor is JaVale McGee.”

This has been a recurrent topic with Davis, as he can be as great as he wants, but his inconsistency hurts his chances of becoming a real superstar in the NBA. Everybody has criticized him for that. The 2022-23 NBA season was expected to be a good one for Davis, as he looked set to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to compete.

However, injuries keep bothering him this season. Davis is still a threat, but if he can’t be consistent, the Lakers will have a hard time going all the way to the Finals. He went off in Game 1 of the Warriors series, dropping 30 on the Dubs.

Things were completely different for Davis and the rest of the Lakers in Game 2, who were destroyed by the Warriors 127-100.

Anthony Davis Once Again Showed He’s An Inconsistent Superstar

Davis only managed to get 11 points, with Draymond Green doing a great job stopping him. The big man couldn’t find his rhythm, and the Lakers felt that, struggling to keep up with the Warriors and Klay Thompson.

If the Lakers want to win it all this season, they need AD at the best level, and this is the perfect moment for him to show that he has what it takes. Davis won the championship in 2020, but LeBron James earned all the honors. Now, it’s time for him to step up and show that he can lead the Lakers for many years.
