Kendrick Perkins Believes Giannis Will Leave The Bucks If They Don’t Make The Finals: “If I’m The Milwaukee Bucks, I’m Worried.”

Kendrick Perkins has signed his name on the list of people who believe Giannis Antetokounmpo might leave the Milwaukee Bucks if they don’t improve what they did last season. They were defeated by the Toronto Raptors last year in the ECF, so naturally, this year is the NBA Finals or nothing. They had the best record in the league before the suspension, en route to making the Finals.

Giannis has stated over and over that his desire is to remain with the Bucks but there is a strong belief around the league that his time in Wisconsin could be shortened if the team doesn’t reach the big stage this campaign. During Friday’s edition of ‘Get Up’, Perkins and Zach Lowe agreed that Giannis’ future was on the line this postseason.

“For the Milwaukee Bucks, with them having the best record in two seasons in a row, they have to make it to the NBA Finals,” Perkins said. “If they don’t make it to the NBA Finals is a failed season, is a bust season for them and they’re gonna have concerns as far as signing Giannis to a long-term extension. When you look back in 2009 and 2010 with LeBron James, he had the best record in the league both years but he failed to make it to the Finals and what he did? He went to join the Miami Heat so if I’m the Milwaukee Bucks, I’m worried because if don’t make it to the NBA Finals this year, it’s a bust season and the chances of losing Giannis are very high.”

As stated before, Giannis has expressed his desire to stay with the team but all of that can change in a blink. The Bucks are the biggest favorites coming out of the East this year and if they don’t reach the Finals, it will indeed be a failure.

The Greek Freak wants that ring, he’s chasing the championship this year and if they don’t make it, perhaps the Bucks will have to see his biggest star next offseason.
