Dirk Nowitzki is one of the greatest players in the history of the NBA, having won a title, a Finals MVP, and an MVP in an incredible 20-year career.

Dirk also currently ranks sixth on the all-time scoring list with 31,560 points, so when Chris Broussard stated on First Things First that Nowitzki is overrated by a lot of people, Kyle Kuzma blasted him.

“Can we take people off the TV? Like this is so bad for our sport.”

Broussard was hyping up Nikola Jokic in this segment, claiming he’d be better than Charles Barkley, Kevin Garnett, and Dirk if he wins this title. He went a bit overboard when defending his take on Jokic over the German, as stating that Nowitzki is overrated is ludicrous.

If there was some widespread notion that Dirk is a top 10 player in NBA history, then maybe you could state he is overrated, but almost no one ranks him that highly. In our NBA all-time GOAT pyramid, Nowitzki was in the fourth tier, and the majority would agree he ranks somewhere between 15-25. He has definitely earned his spot in that tier as his resume speaks for itself. His title run in 2011 might have also been the most impressive one ever, as he beat Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James along the way.

Chris Broussard Had Been Called Out By Trae Young As Well

There was a time when Broussard was one of the more sensible talking heads in sports television but that is no longer the case. Just like most of the media nowadays, he tends to dish out controversial hot takes and he had one on Victor Wembanyama recently.

Broussard stated it would be a disappointment if Wembanyama has a career like that of Durant or Hakeem Olajuwon. He thinks considering the hype, the expectation is that the Frenchman has a career like that of LeBron, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Trae Young called him out on it and if Broussard continues to dish out takes like these, a lot more players are going to get at him.
