The Dallas Mavericks are now on a three-game losing streak following a shocking defeat against the Charlotte Hornets.

What’s more surprising is the fact that both Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving were playing against the Hornets, but it was still not enough for the Mavs to register an important win. As a result, Kyrie was showered with boos by Mavericks fans during the game. Irving addressed those boos after the game and gave a savage response to fans who booed him.

“So what? … You obviously want to play well, but you it’s only five people on the court that can play for Dallas Mavericks. If the fans wanna change places, then hey, be my guest. Got years of work ahead to be great enough to be on this level.”

Kyrie Irving finished the game against the Hornets with 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists. Although it may look like Irving had a decent game, he struggled to shoot from the floor.

Irving shot 6-16 from the field and an abysmal 1-8 from the three-point line. It was understandable why the fans booed him, but Kyrie is not someone who takes any insults from fans about his game.

Kyrie Irving Is Never Shy About Calling Out Heckling Fans

Kyrie Irving is one of the most skilled players in the NBA, but that doesn’t stop fans from heckling him during games. However, every player has a different way to handle such fans.

Irving tends to call out such fans. One such example was when Irving was called out by a fan during the Mavericks’ matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans earlier this season. Instead of backing down from the incident, Kai argued with the fan and called him out for teaching him how to play basketball.

“How are fans telling me how to play basketball? How does that make sense? How does that make sense? How are y’all gonna tell me how to play basketball?”

In a way, Kyrie is not wrong to question fans when they try to teach him to play. After all, the Dallas Mavericks superstar has hooped his entire life and has given his heart and soul to the sport.
