  • Kyrie Irving has been given a rating of 90 in NBA 2K24
  • Irving isn’t too happy about being that low after being in the game for 13 years
  • Kyrie was a 91 in NBA 2K23

We can add Kyrie Irving to the long list of players who are unhappy with their NBA 2K24 ratings. Irving was recently asked about his ratings in various categories and the 31-year-old thinks he should be much higher in a lot of them.

“Man, bump them 2K stats, man,” Irving said. “This my shoutout to 2K, y’all bulls***, no I’m sorry.”

When asked what his three-point rating is and what it should be, Kyrie said, “I think my three points are like an 80… It should at least be a 92.”

Irving said his free throw rating should be 100 and when told it was 91, he stated it should at least be 98. Next came one that is near and dear to Kyrie’s heart, layups.

Irving believes he should be a 99, but he only got 95 and wasn’t satisfied, “Easily 99. Easily.”

Kyrie wanted his playmaking to be 92 but only got an 87. He then made it clear his overall rating should be higher than 90.

“I don’t really care what it’s going to be,” Irving replied when asked what his rating would be at the end of the season. “I know where I deserve to be… 13 years in the game and you rate me a 90? They don’t have me rated high enough.”

They did give Irving a 99 for ball-handling, so he should be happy about that at least. I don’t see a whole lot of issues with his ratings, maybe except for the layup part, and if he wants them to go up, all he has to do is ball out on the court.

Kyrie averaged 27.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game last season for the Brooklyn Nets and the Dallas Mavericks. If he can up those numbers and take the Mavericks to the playoffs, he will certainly be higher than 90 next year.

NBA Fans Reacted To Irving Being Unhappy With His Ratings

I didn’t have serious issues with the ratings, but the same can’t be said about NBA fans. Some felt Irving deserved to be higher as they reacted to the clip.

One thinks 90 is disrespectful.

A fan said Irving has to step his game up in 2023-24.

Irving’s ratings are better than 2K’s a fan said.

One fan believes Irving should be a couple of ratings higher.

A fan thinks Irving has been rated too high by 2K.

Well, you’re never going to find the rating that is going to please everyone. That was on full display when the top 30 ranked players in NBA 2K24 were revealed as well.

Kyrie Irving Says He Is The Best Ball Handler In The NBA

Irving got a 99 for ball handling as I mentioned earlier, and that’s probably one of the few ratings that no one is going to disagree with. The eight-time All-Star does things with the basketball that most could only dream of, and Kyrie believes he has the best handles in the NBA.

That’s a pretty fair statement and one that most NBA players would probably agree with as well. Some have gone a step beyond, with LeBron James saying Irving is the best player ever with the ball in his hands.
