It’s been a miserable season for LeBron James and the Lakers but, somehow, they still have a chance to win it all.

Before Sunday, the Lakers were clinging to the 8th seed with a half-game lead over the Timberwolves. After Minnesota’s loss to Portland today, the Purple and Gold now have a bit of a cushion between them and the bottom of the play-in bracket. The job is not yet finished, of course, and the lakers will have to win their game against Houston for it to count, but it seems the basketball gods are looking favorably on the Lakeshow this campaign and fans couldn’t be happier.

“Is it possible to say the lakers are locked for at least the play-in?” asked one fan.

There were also many fans who thanked other teams for helping them save the season.

The final chapter has yet to be written, so there is no guarantee the Lakers will pull this off. As we’ve seen multiple times this season, the Lakers are far from perfect and the margin for error is so slim that one or two losses could mean the difference between two play-in games or none at all.

Either way, the game tonight is an important tone for the Lakers, just like every other game on the schedule from here on out.

The Lakers Are The Team To Fear In The West

An 8th seed has never looked as dangerous as this Lakers team. Thanks to good health from LeBron and AD, and a revamped roster after the trade deadline, this team has been transformed from a total failure to a very capable group capable of beating any team in the West.

“The Lakers at 8, a month ago, we had the Lakers dead. Straight dead, go to the trade deadline, everybody hated them, worst season ever, they’re never gonna make the playoffs, and now they’re 8th,” said Isiah Thomas. “Not only are they 8th, but they’re playing well. I know someone said that nobody fears LeBron, let me tell you something. Them 7 teams that are 1 through 7, there’s not one team saying I want to play LeBron and the Lakers. in the first round. So there is some fear there. That’s the team I think nobody really wants to face.”

Against the lowly Rockets, Anthony Davis will have the chance to get his revenge after a surprise upset last month. Fans are hoping for a big performance so he can close this team out and help the Lakers grow their lead for a top-8 seed in the Conference.
