Coming into the 2023 offseason, the Lakers didn’t have any grand plans to change the roster. After a trip to the Conference Finals, most fans were content with the state of the team and Rob Pelinka spoke like a GM who wanted to run it back instead of making a major overhaul.

Fast forward to today, and the Lakers are still pretty much the same team they were back then, but they did make a few pickups that could make a big difference: offensive guard Gabe Vincent and veteran swingman Taurean Prince. They are also making strides to keep free agent Austin Reaves.

All-in-all, it was a great opening to free agency and Lakers fans took to Twitter to celebrate the moves.

‘Guys I’m about to faint,’ said a LeBron superfan.

Another fan started dreaming of LeBron with his new teammates…

While some fans still want to see the Lakers add to their frontcourt, there is widespread approval over the two recent additions.

Of course, there were also plenty of overreactions, and a lot of Lakers fans made some bold predictions after their slew of signings.

As another fan mentioned, however, the job is not yet finished for the Purple and Gold and they should do more if they want to continue their upward trajectory.

Today was a good day for Lakers Nation. While the team didn’t land the biggest names, they were able to build up their depth around AD and LeBron James. Plus, with several of their own players still on the market, the Lakers seemingly still have more moves to make.

Will The Lakers Bring Back D’Angelo Russell?

At this point, the biggest question surrounding the Lakers is what will happen with D’Angelo Russell. The Lakers have yet to re-sign him to a contract despite reports claiming it was already a done deal. Are there trouble in negotiations, or have the Lakers changed their plans?

We should find out soon enough, but it’s clear that the Purple and Gold are on a mission to win, and nothing will get in the way.
